  1. Q:  If you had to have the last word on McLuhan, 
  2. what would it be?

  4. A:  How about if I put it this way: if I could speak to 
  5. McLuhan in some heavenly situation, and I only had 
  6. a minute to see him again, after I asked him how 
  7. things are going of course, I think I would tell him 
  8. that what he did when he was here was extremely 
  9. significant, that it opened up new pathways to 
  10. thinking about media, and that there are 
  11. thousands of young people now, in both the 
  12. academic world, and in the communications 
  13. industry, who think differently about what they‚Äôre 
  14. doing because he lived. So I‚Äôd say, ‚ÄúThanks
